In shaping this natural sanctuary, award-winning landscape architects WHZ Environmental Design embraced the land’s existing contours, preserving its lush vegetation and flowing water sources. Thoughtful design meets nature’s rhythm, with recycled wood lending warmth and character to our five treehouse villas. The result is a space of quiet charm—where modern comfort intertwines seamlessly with the timeless beauty of the wild.

The Story Behind Tiarasa Escapes
A letter by our founder, Tiara Jacquelina
The idea for Tiarasa began with a moment that stayed with me long after I returned home.
Many years ago, while travelling in Morocco, I spent several nights at Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s retreat in the Atlas Mountains.
I remember sleeping in a beautiful Berber tent and waking to the quiet stillness of the mountains.
It was the first time I experienced how magical it could feel to be surrounded by nature, yet wrapped in the comfort of a thoughtfully designed space.
I fell completely in love with the experience.
At that time, the concept of glamping was almost unheard of in Malaysia. I began imagining what it might feel like to bring that same sense of adventure and comfort home:
to create a place where people could reconnect with nature while enjoying the warmth and ease of a retreat.
To bring that vision to life, I reached out to the very same tent makers used at Kasbah Tamadot and had the tents imported from South Africa. Those are the tents our guests stay in today.
But Tiarasa is more than the tents themselves.
Many of the experiences here are inspired by the moments that have meant the most to me and my family over the years — simple moments that often become the memories we treasure most.

Quiet nights watching the sky fill with constellations…

These are not typical resort activities in Malaysia. They are small joys I wanted to share with others.
Tiarasa is a place I return to often myself — a sanctuary where I can step away from the pace of the city and reconnect with the quiet rhythms of nature.
It has always been my happy place.
My hope is that when you visit, you will find that feeling here too.
